AEON launches Panther Lake mini PC with AirJet fanless cooling
AEON's new UP Xtreme PTL Edge Air mini PC uses Frore's AirJet ultrasonic cooling for sub-21 dBA operation.

AEON has released the UP Xtreme PTL Edge Air, a Panther Lake-powered mini PC designed for embedded and industrial markets with fanless ultrasonic cooling. The company announced the system on Tuesday, September 29th, 2026.
Technical specifications and cooling innovation
The system uses Frore’s AirJet ultrasonic membrane technology to eliminate fans, achieving 35% thinner and 43% lighter dimensions while operating under 21 dBA. This solid-state active cooling replaces conventional fans with ultrasonic-frequency membrane vibration to generate high-speed pulsating airflow. Aaeon states the design is "35% thinner and 43% lighter" than the fan-cooled UP Xtreme PTL Edge released earlier in the year. The approach also eliminates fan-induced vibration.
Performance and expandability
The mini PC supports up to 128GB of DDR5 memory and offers three Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processor options. It provides extensive connectivity for industrial environments, including dual 2.5GbE LAN and support for four simultaneous displays. Supported operating systems are Windows IoT Enterprise and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.

Use cases and competitive context
AEON targets space-constrained applications like ultra-thin kiosks, low-clearance autonomous mobile robot housing, and compact mobile healthcare units. The elimination of vibration is highlighted for robotic controllers, actuators, and precision sensing equipment. The company notes a trade-off, stating the design brings "a 6% increase in power consumption and a narrower operating temperature range of -10°C to 45°C." The only other mini PC using AirJet cooling is Zotac's ZBox PI430AJ, which is built around a lower-power Intel N300 Atom CPU. The UP Xtreme PTL Edge Air measures 35.8 mm in height and weighs 1.57 lb. Businesses must contact AEON directly for quotes based on volume, as no public pricing is disclosed.
