NZXT has launched the S5 RGB, a compact ATX mid-tower chassis designed to offer panoramic glass views and integrated RGB cooling at an accessible price. According to a review by Guru3D, the standard model carries an MSRP of $49.99, while a Deluxe version with two extra fans costs $59.99.

The case uses a steel chassis with tempered-glass panels at the front and left side, creating a panoramic view for showcasing components. The right side panel is perforated steel and serves as the main intake area. Both the top and bottom panels feature removable mesh dust filters.

Component Compatibility and Clearance

Despite its compact 42.8-litre volume, the S5 RGB supports ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards. It can accommodate graphics cards up to 415 mm in length and CPU coolers up to 162 mm tall. The case also fits ATX power supplies up to 200 mm long.

Storage capacity is more limited. The chassis supports only one 2.5-inch drive and one 3.5-inch drive. It does not support E-ATX or rear-connector motherboards.

Cooling and Radiator Support

Cooling support is a highlighted feature. The chassis can mount up to ten fans in total. The review notes specific mounting locations and radiator support.

The S5 RGB comes with a pre-installed 360 mm single-frame RGB reverse fan mounted on the right side as an intake. This fan combines three blades into one frame for a uniform look and simpler installation. Its reverse-blade design ensures the cleaner side faces the glass.

Connectivity and Build Features

The front I/O panel includes two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C port, and a combined headset audio jack. Tool-less access to the side and top panels aims to simplify building and maintenance. Integrated cable-tie points are provided for cable management.

The reviewer points out that the flat glass panels give the S5 RGB a more conventional appearance compared to NZXT's curved-glass designs. Even so, Guru3D states the case "offers a combination of features that is difficult to ignore at this price." It provides panoramic glass, large graphics card clearance, modern USB-C connectivity, and RGB cooling out of the box.
