ASUS ROG Swift PG27UCWM Monitor Uses New Tandem OLED Panel
ASUS has launched the ROG Swift OLED PG27UCWM, a 26.5-inch 4K monitor with a new Tandem RGB OLED panel and a 480 Hz mode.

ASUS has introduced the ROG Swift OLED PG27UCWM, a 26.5-inch gaming monitor. It uses a new Tandem RGB OLED panel from LG Display and offers a 4K resolution at 240 Hz or a 1080p resolution at 480 Hz.
The monitor, reviewed by Guru3D, attempts to address common criticisms of OLED displays for mixed desktop use. Its conventional RGB-stripe subpixel layout aims to reduce text fringing and improve clarity for productivity tasks alongside gaming. This is a shift from the QD-OLED panel used in the earlier ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM model.
Panel Technology and Image Quality
The PG27UCWM's Tandem RGB OLED technology stacks emissive layers to improve efficiency. ASUS claims this delivers up to 27% greater color volume than previous-generation WOLED panels, particularly at higher brightness levels. The company states the RGB-only approach helps retain color saturation in intense HDR highlights where WOLED can struggle.
A TrueBlack Glossy finish combines a glossy surface with an anti-reflective coating. ASUS claims this treatment provides 38% fewer ambient reflections than its previous glossy WOLED implementation. The goal is to maintain deeper perceived blacks under room lighting compared to QD-OLED panels.
Performance and Specifications
The monitor's primary mode is 3840 x 2160 at 240 Hz. A dedicated Dual Mode switches the resolution to 1920 x 1080 to achieve a 480 Hz refresh rate. This mode targets competitive esports titles where high frame rates are prioritized. ASUS also includes a simulated 24.5-inch display mode for players accustomed to smaller tournament screens.
HDR performance includes a claimed peak brightness of 1,000 cd/m² and support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision. It carries VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification. The panel covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space and is factory calibrated to a Delta E below 2. Pixel response time is quoted at 0.03 ms.

Connectivity and Features
Connectivity is comprehensive. A DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 port can handle 4K at 240 Hz without compression. Two HDMI 2.1 ports and a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 90-watt Power Delivery are included. The monitor also has a built-in KVM switch, a three-port USB hub, and a headphone jack.
ASUS includes several features under the OLED Care Pro protection package. These consist of pixel cleaning, screen movement, logo-brightness adjustment, and an outer-area dimming function. A Neo Proximity Sensor can blank the screen when the user walks away. The panel is backed by a three-year warranty that covers burn-in.
Market Position and Pricing
The monitor is positioned at the premium end of the market. Its European recommended price is approximately €1,249.90. This places it substantially above the first wave of 27-inch 4K 240 Hz QD-OLED monitors, which have seen price discounts. Buyers are paying for the new panel technology, improved desktop clarity, higher color volume, the 480 Hz mode, and extensive connectivity. According to the review, whether these advantages justify the price premium is the central question for potential buyers.
