GMKtec has launched its flagship EVO-X5 PRO mini workstation. The system is powered by AMD's Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 495 "Gorgon Halo" system-on-a-chip.

According to the company, the workstation is designed for professionals and AI users. It builds upon GMKtec's previous EVO series designs.

Core Hardware Specifications

The AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 495 chip features 16 cores and 32 threads based on the Zen 5 architecture. It operates at up to 5.2 GHz and includes 64 MB of cache. GMKtec states the chip's power rating is between 45 and 120 watts, with the EVO-X5 PRO offering three user-selectable power modes.

The integrated Radeon 8065S GPU operates at up to 3000 MHz and offers 40 compute units. AMD's XDNA 2 Neural Processing Unit (NPU) provides up to 55 TOPS of AI performance. Combined, the chip delivers 131 TOPS of total AI compute.

Memory, Storage, and Expansion

The system comes equipped with 192 GB of unified memory operating at 8533 MT/s speeds. GMKtec claims the PC can dedicate up to 160 GB of this memory to the GPU, enabling users to run AI models with over 300 billion parameters locally. For storage, the workstation supports up to 24 TB via a triple M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 array, with each slot supporting up to 8 TB.

Input/output options include dual front USB4 ports and dual rear USB4 V2 ports, which support external GPUs. The system also features 8K video output, dual USB 3.2 ports, dual 10GbE Ethernet LAN ports, and an HDMI port. GMKtec says the mini PC can be used in clusters via the onboard USB4 V2 ports.

Design and Software Features

The EVO-X5 PRO uses a CNC all-metal chassis and includes an all-in-one smart function key. For cooling, GMKtec employs its latest vapor chamber heat spreader and a triple-fan solution with smart thermal control technology.

On the software side, the workstation comes with GMKtec's own Claw AI agent solution. It supports AMD Dash Remote Management technology through an RJ45 Dash network adapter and includes a dedicated dTPM 2.0 security chip.

GMKtec has not announced pricing for the EVO-X5 PRO. The company states the PC will launch next month in October.
