Benchmarks: NVIDIA's RTX Spark PCs, using new N1X chips, launch in October via major OEMs

NVIDIA's RTX Spark PCs will launch in October, powered by the company's new N1X system-on-a-chip. The platform marks NVIDIA's first full consumer PC solution, moving beyond just supplying GPUs.

Major OEMs including Acer, ASUS, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, MSI, Lenovo, and Microsoft will begin shipments next month. NVIDIA told Wccftech its target is broad regional availability at launch, though final availability will vary by manufacturer. Some partners will start with limited regions while others go global.

Two N1X Configurations Detailed

The N1X SoC will be available in two distinct configurations at launch. Both combine an Arm-based Grace CPU with a Blackwell architecture RTX GPU and unified memory.

ConfigurationCPU CoresGPU CoresMemory RangeInitial Form Factors
Top N1X20-Core Grace6144 (Blackwell)24 GB to 128 GBLaptops & Compact Desktops
Second N1X18-Core Grace5120 (Blackwell)24 GB to 32 GBLaptops Only

Wccftech notes the top configuration's GPU core count matches the rumored RTX 5070, while the second has more than the rumored RTX 5060 Ti. The publication cautions that performance will not match discrete desktop or laptop GPUs due to power and thermal constraints, but expects them to top integrated graphics rankings.

Performance and Feature Claims

NVIDIA makes specific performance claims for the RTX Spark platform. The company states the PCs will deliver 100 FPS gaming at 1440p resolution with various ray tracing and DLSS technologies enabled.

The systems will support the latest DLSS updates, including DLSS 5 and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, alongside Multi-Frame Generation support up to 6x. NVIDIA announced various game developer and publisher partnerships at Gamescom. Wccftech expects this to be "the first fully performant 'WoA' gaming solution on the market."

For content creation, NVIDIA claims RTX Spark PCs can render 90GB 3D scenes using OptiX and ray tracing. Hardware-accelerated 4:2:2 video processing is also promised for a rich creator experience.

AI Capabilities and Design

The full NVIDIA AI stack will be featured, enabling AI agents with up to 120 billion parameters and 1 million token context lengths. Support from the Windows Agent Framework and optimizations in Unified Memory are intended to provide proper platform backing.

OEM designs will include laptops as thin as 14mm, which are said to offer all-day battery life. Wccftech reports seeing "super sleek and stylish laptops alongside Mini PCs" during hands-on sessions with various OEM designs at IFA and earlier at Computex.

Prices for the RTX Spark PCs remain undisclosed. Considering the two N1X configurations and various memory tiers, Wccftech anticipates a wide spectrum of price options across the different designs.
